BREAST CANCER FUNDRAISER: We want to help in the fight against breast cancer. Starting Monday, December 1st, until Thursday December 4th a bake sale with a Christmas theme will run in the Atrium during H.S. and 7/8 lunch. All the money raised will go to the Weekend to End Breast Cancer 2009 Ottawa edition in support of the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. Don’t forget to bring your money! Remember everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer!

BOOK FAIR: Meeting TODAY, in room 132, @ HS lunch for all those involved in the Book Fair.

ORTONA PARTICIPANTS: A reminder to all students that went on the Ortona trip of the meeting, at lunch, on Tuesday. Bring you pictures (on a CD or your memory card) with you.

POLICE SCIENCES STUDENTS: Would Mr. Prigent's Police Sciences students please meet in rm. 203 for class today period 3- there will be no run - no need to bring a change of clothes.

PEER HELPERS: There will be a Peer Helper meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at the start of lunch in Room 134.

KNITTING CLUB: The Knitting Club will meet today during HS lunch in the library seminar room. We will be taking our yearbook photo at this meeting, so any students who gave knitting a try are welcome to join us for the photo. New members are also welcome to come and learn this useful and creative skill - we have supplies available to get you started.

PART-TIME JOBS AVAILABLE: The Bay at Bayshore wants you. Looking for 40 students, age 16 and over for the Xmas Elf Program. You will be required to work weekends and will be responsible for maintaining the look and Xmas spirit in the key departments. While employed, you will benefit from their associate shopping discount. NAME THAT BOOK CONTEST: Each day clues about Eric Walters' books will be given during the morning announcements. Identify the book, drop off your guess in the library and get in on a chance to win a Chapters/Indigo gift certificate.

ALPINE SKI TEAM: There will be an information meeting for all students interested in the racing TODAY, during lunch, in room 201. High school students should meet at 11:45. 7/8 students please pick up the information from Mrs. Earle in room 137 before school on Friday. The first dry land training practices will begin next week and continue every Tuesday and Thursday. The first on hill practice is Wednesday December 17 at Mt. St. Marie.

Thank you to all singers and performers who auditioned for the Festival of the Arts. Performances that have been selected are posted outside room 332. All performers must speak with Mrs. Jewitt in room 332 before Friday, November 28th.

ATTENTION 7/8 STUDENTS: We are looking for eager and responsible students interested in assisting backstage or working in the technical crew for the Festival of the Arts, December 11th. Please meet for an important meeting at lunch, TODAY, in room 332. Please see Ms. Stuart or Mrs. Jewitt if you are unable to attend.

The 7/8 boys volleyball end of season celebration pizza lunch will be held TODAY, at lunch, in room 204.

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are encouraged to sign up to perform in the Third Annual Festival of the Arts - an evening of the Arts celebrating the talents of Grade 7 and 8 students. VARSITY GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Tryouts for the varsity girls volleyball team will begin this week starting Thursday, Nov. 13 at 7:15 am, Monday, Nov. 17th at 3:15 - 4:30 AND Tuesday, Nov. 18th at 7:30 am. SKI CLUB GRADE 7-12: Attention all snowboarders and skiers - don't have anything to do on Wednesday nights? Join us for 6 weeks beginning in January as we venture to Camp Fortune to hit the slopes!! 7-8 students can pick up a form from Ms. Merklinger in Room 337. High School students can pick up a form from Ms. Stewart in Room 130. First come first served so don't miss out! Forms due back by November 21.

MT HAS TALENT! A reminder to all students selected to perform on Friday, of the MANDATORY meetings on Tuesday at lunch. There are several activities going on this week that focus on careers, including several guest speakers for different classes, TAKE OUR KIDS TO WORK day for Gr. 9’s on Wednesday and our Trades Fair on Friday, focusing on apprenticeship and the skilled trades, fro all Gr. 10 and 11 students.

BOYS HOCKEY: Reminder to the Varsity Boys hockey team that dismissal today is at 1:35 - bus leaves at 1:45.

GRAD PHOTOS: Photographers are here this week for Grad photos. Pictures are taken in the Library seminar room. Do not be late for your appointment. If you are not purchasing a package, you do not need an appointment, just pop in and get your picture taken for the yearbook. If you haven’t booked an appointment for a sitting, be sure to do so ASAP.

GRADS: A representative from Queens University will be at Mother Teresa H.S. TODAY from 1:45 – 3:05 p.m., in the Library to explain programs and admission requirements for entry to Queens in Sept. 2009. Please report to your period 4 class prior to going to the library.

GRADS: The three Quebec English language universities, McGill, Concordia and Bishops, will be holding a Quebec University Information Program night TONIGHT at 7:00 p.m. at Woodroffe H.S., 2410 Georgina Dr. in Ottawa. They will review admission requirements, programs and scholarships.

MORNINGS WITH MILLER: Old Man Miller is running a "drop-in centre" for Physics & Chemistry each morning from 8:10 to 8:40 in room 203. Those students who would like assistance with SPH3U, SPH4U, SCH3U or SCH4U challenges are welcome to drop in for some help.
