Volunteer Hours Opportunity: The Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay For Life is a unique 12-hour community event that takes place overnight on June 8–9 at the Nepean Sportsplex. It is a fun and uplifting event that is filled with energy. Organizers are looking for oodles of volunteers that are interested in taking 4 or more hours to volunteer during the night. Notice to High School Students: Today is June 1. There are 12 school days left before formal exams begin. Finals exams and/or CPTs count for 30% of your final mark. It is essential you complete assignments and prepare properly for exams. The formal exam schedule is posted on our school web site at: www.mths.ca Be sure you have the correct day and time for each of your exams. There are no extensions for lateness or missed exams. If you need an Exam Study Package, please pick one up in Student Services.
Help Wanted: Looking for someone to look after a 6 year old autistic boy who lives on Redpath Drive in Barrhaven. Preferably a Grade 11 or Grade 12 student who can take child to park to play...no studying involved. Family looking for someone on Saturday afternoons (3 hours) or Sunday afternoons (3 hours). High School Athletic Awards Banquet will be held here at Mother Teresa on Monday, June 11th at 6:30 pm. Tickets will be available next week. Student athletes with outstanding Athletic Fees are asked to forward these to their respective coaches or Mr. Liska ASAP to ensure that they are able to attend.
Mother Teresa H.S. Athletic Banquet: Any high school students or teachers that have pictures of their sports season are urged to submit them to Mr. Prigent in the Gym office - We are looking for Hockey, B-Ball, Badminton, Track, Football, Volleyball, Rugby, Soccer, Lacrosse, Skiing, Golf, Intramurals. Pictures submitted will help create the slideshow presentation at the end of year athletic banquet.
Barrhaven Community CHEO Family Fun Day: Everyone is invited to help support our Children's Hospital of Easter Ontario Family Fun Day hosted at Ross' Independent Grocer in Barrhaven, 3777 Strandherd on Sunday, June 3rd, 2007.
This will be the fifth annual "Family Fun CHEO Day" hosted at Ross' Independent Grocer. This year, the festival has expanded with a new twist by partnering with the first ever Barrhaven Multicultural Festival. The combined festival is a celebration of "Our Kids, Our Culture, Our CHEO". There will be food, games, music, fashion shows & traditional dances with beautiful dresses and colors. Performances will be performed by the Chinese Children's Choir, East Indian, Columbian, Scottish, Irish, Muslim and Tamil Dance groups. There will be midway games for kids to ride and many games displays of reptiles and mad science. There will also be a number of interactive multicultural exhibits for kids to experience unique crafts and activities from different countries. All proceeds raised from this event will go to CHEO as part of the weekend CHEO telethon.
Barrhaven has grown rapidly in population over the past 8 years and so has the diversity within our community. This festival is an opportunity to celebrate our sense of community and help create awareness and information about the diverse backgrounds that make up our community while raising funds to support a critical resource in our community - CHEO.
